1. Castle Howard, Yorkshireg
Castle Howard is located in Yorkshire. It is about 15 miles north of York. The Castle has been taken care of by the Treasure Houses of England group of heritage houses. 2. Castle Hohenschwangau, Germany
It is a 19th century Castle located in southern Germany. It was a childhood home for King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The castle was built by his father King Maximilian II of Bavaria. It is located near to the German village of Hohenschwangau. The castle existed since the 12th century, however, until 1535 it remained in the possession of the Knights of Schwangau. After the series of wars happened over the years that left the castle in ruins. Thereafter in 1832, it was reconstructed by Crown Prince Maximilian as per the original plans. Later, it became the residence of the royal family. After the death of King Maximilian, it became home to King Ludwig II and his mother.

3. Corfe Castle, Dorset
The Castle was built by William the Conqueror. Corfe Castle is standing in the English county of Dorset. One of the earliest castle built by stones was built in the 11th century. The castle dates back to the 11th century and the majority of it was built with earth and timber. It went major structural changes in the 12th and 13th centuries. Talking about the history, in 1572 Corfe Castle left the Crown’s control when Elizabeth I sold it to Sir Christopher Hatton. Later, Sir John Bankes bought the castle in the year 1635 and was the owner during the English civil war. The first attack on the castle in 1643 was unsuccessful, however, by 1645 Corfe was the last strongest holder in southern England and fell to a siege ending in an assault. The Corfe castle was owned by the National Trust and now it is open to the public. In 2017, received around 247,000 visitors.

4. Malbork Castle, Poland
Malbork Castle is the largest Castle all around the world in terms of surface area. It is located in Poland. The Castle was built in Marienburg. It was built by the Teutonic Knights. The Teutonic Knights are the Roman Catholic religious order of crusaders. The Order then named it Mary’s Castle. The town which has grown around it also named as Marienburg. The palace was built by Ludwig II of Bavaria. It was a homage to Richard Wagner. The uniqueness of the palace is that it was built by Ludwig II by his own personal treasures rather than using Bavarian public funds. Ludwig II moved into the castle in 1884, however, he never saw it completely finished due to the various delays and setbacks. Even the bower and the square tower remained incompleted until 1892 even after 24 hours. The castle is an inspiration for the Disney castle, Walt Disney was so inspired by the castle that he used he used to create Cinderella’s castle in the 1950 (Cartoon Film).

Chambord Castle was located in France. The Castle was never completed. It was built by King Francis I of France. Chambord is the largest chateau in the Loire Valley. One of the finest example of French Renaissance architecture that shows French medieval forms with classical example of Renaissance structures. The basic purpose of the castle serves as a hunting lodge for Francis I who maintained his royal residence at Chateau de Blois and Amboise. It is a huge castle with 400 rooms, more than 80 staircases and 365 fireplaces. It also has a good number of towers, high ceilings, pointed domes and graceful pinnacles. The castle is occupied with the vast area of about 5000 hectares. The walls covering the castle is about 30 kilometres long.
